Es War Niemals

"A thousand told stories are in my heart. Come with me into my enchanted world. You do not need a parachute, a red cape, or a nice bag to come along with the dreaming fairy, just a little imagination and goodness. That's how it ends, this one short story. The disc clicks and it stops, but wait and you'll hear a new one. "Es war Niemals" the storyteller will say, and a new fairytale begins.”

a strati

Like gears generating movement through weight, force, and resistance, the scene unfolds in synchrony, exploring a crescendo of intensity that accumulates pressure, repetition, and friction. The bodies, interpreted as molecules, complete the two faces of matter toward a new dimension.

a strati seeks to investigate the body as an automatic machine that, through movement, creates repetitions which, in physical collision, interrupt the continuity of gesture, generating variations until reaching a third state of matter: an unstable and dense organism, layered with bodies in contact, where impact becomes the engine of transformation and suspends the delicate line between mechanism and physical presence.

a strati was created for the International Contemporary Dance Festival Barnes Crossing Solo Duo Festival + Friends 2022 in Cologne, Germany, where it premiered on May 20, 2022. The choreography was subsequently awarded the BEST DUO AWARD.

Numbers…complete with more Levels

“ Inspired by field experience...my NUMBERS was created to ironize the current trend to reward the choreographic “no sense”. It is the rhythm on which they play “multi-level” of humanity... The exhibitionist...The introvert... The old Wise.”

A dance competition in Macedonia in the not too distant past.... In the eyes of some of the competitors, a movement repertoire can be seen, whose fascination and significance are not to be explored completely. The level of difficulty is rather low. The depth of the danced emotion, however, is obviously immeasurable. Who thinks that classical ballet is not a comic aftermath is wrong …"

Unsterbliche Geliebte

This choreography explores the theme of seduction through the encounter of two of history’s most iconic seducers: Casanova and Don Juan. On stage, these legendary figures meet through dance, embodying different approaches to desire, attraction, and the pursuit of love. While both are often seen as archetypal womanizers and heartbreakers, their passions are fundamentally different, as is their willingness to act without regard for others.

Inspired in part by Giacomo Casanova’s autobiographical work Histoire de ma vie, the piece unfolds as a sensual and ambiguous game of attraction, revealing the fine line between charm and manipulation, intimacy and illusion. Through movement, the choreography examines the seductive power of human connection and the shadows that often accompany desire.

Die 5 aus Bremen

"Die 5 aus Bremen" is my interpretation of the original story of "The Bremen Town Musicians". With it, I want to bring on stage six dancers, five men, and one magic woman going through an artistic adventure in Morocco.

Physicality, musicality, irony, and pure dance in the space are the basis of my piece.

Das Rote

“I feel so much, but what I can give back is so little.

But there are still so many more questions....

They are my feet and my hands,

and they are all what I can give back...

to you."

      Jun Miyake

Life often presents us with its dark side. The unexpected becomes surprisingly real and with a "click" something inside of us is triggered. The discovery of being used for other purposes, humiliated and deeply disappointed, led me to this creation.

DAS ROTE is my "click".

Inspired by the famous fairy tale “The Little Red Riding Hood”, I tell my personal experience of lies, anger, confusion, and rebirth. The dancers interpret the characters of the fairy tale, which are reinvented.  Each one represents a real emotional state I lived.

DAS ROTE is my message of rebirth. I leave it to those who have tried to break me but have failed to succeed. They have only guaranteed my growth."

A hypothesis of Do-rilla

Inspired by Antonio Vivaldi 's cantata cessate ormai cessate. Extreme, ecstatic, and unrestrainedly expressive choreographic solo of a man lost in himself, furious but clearly happy.

Do-rilla, his constant thought that haunts him. A hypothesis on what a man can feel after being deeply wounded.....

.....a hypothesis on what consequences he may face.

Die Verwandlung

Inspired by Kafka ...an alienation of a man driven by primordial instinct, to become an insect and hide. All living beings have the same basic needs...to eat and to reproduce...just the reason distinguishes us from insects...Choreographing is to make this concept “visible”  in the most direct way. Everyone dances...even insects.

Pagliacci…life should be Opera

Life often feels difficult, yet “the show must go on”: each life is an original, unrepeatable performance. Artistic expression is neither purely artificial nor innate, but an essential direction of life through which everyone can discover their own path.

Human beings are distinguished by their relationship to art, and each person can become the artist of their own life. Those who feel this vocation carry the responsibility to develop it and share it with others. For the artist, the need to express is as vital as breathing; stage and life inevitably overlap.

“Pagliacci – Life Should Be Opera” is an interdisciplinary choreographic project combining singing, acting, and dance. It stages the inner conflict of the artist as a fragmented, almost schizophrenic condition: the tension between the real self and the multiple roles performed, and the risk of becoming lost within them.

Inspired by Pagliacci by Leoncavallo, the work reflects on performers who must simultaneously embody their characters and themselves. In this context, performance often takes over reality, as audiences expect entertainment while real life is temporarily suspended. This raises the question: what is real life for the artist when the boundaries between stage and existence dissolve?.

Charl/ie-ot

Inspired by the autobiography and films of Charlie Chaplin, I created the dance performance “Charl/ie-ot” as guest choreographer at Theater Ulm, Germany.

The work reflects on Chaplin’s extraordinary journey from a difficult childhood marked by poverty to worldwide fame and wealth, questioning the role of circumstance and opportunity in the making of an artist. It asks whether such a trajectory would have been possible without the invention of cinema, which becomes the defining force of his destiny.

In this perspective, “fortune” appears as a constant presence in Chaplin’s life, with cinema as her surname. The piece unfolds as a kind of living museum of his biography and film career, structured as a sequence of “stations” that revisit key moments and works, merging documentary elements with choreographic interpretation.

Backing

Backing explores the concept of female solidarity as a collective force and an act of resistance. Inspired by Valerie Solanas’s Manifesto, the work investigates dynamics of mutual support among women, transforming the body into a political, relational, and affective space.

Through a choreographic structure that alternates between unison, duets, and group formations, the performers build a physical language based on listening, protection, and interdependence. Movement unfolds as a continuous act of “backing each other up,” both in a physical and symbolic sense, generating an ever-changing network of relationships.

The choreography challenges traditional narratives of competition and isolation, instead proposing a vision in which strength emerges through cohesion. Within this performative space, gesture becomes both a political and poetic statement: an invitation to recognize shared vulnerability as a form of power.

TZID

“In a second, the dead sea and desert mountains turn into a stage. Inside, you starts boiling a feeling of fantasy on the descent of a mysterious creature. When a landscape thrills you so deeply, it stimulates the brain to a new choreographic creation. I could not miss the chance to develop it. TZID was born from a vision. The abstract image of my beast has found its concrete shape in movement."
